Just sold on ebay, a pair of H/M Alphas with triangle lume for a 2998.

I was not expecting them to go so high.

The triangle shape lume is what I prefer, and there are a lot of 2998's running around with shorter Seamaster alphas as I think Omega used to fit at service - certainly some Omega Service centres did this as a matter or routine.

For me I observe a greenish lume, which I do not prefer. I do see the slight curve across the hands - which I think of as original. The service hands are all flat.

However I did want them, but what a price. The bidding went past me like a train.

Two years ago, I souced this 105.003-63 Ed White with a few incorrect components including very nice, triangle lume, Alpha Hands.

As a newbie, I posted his picture on OF and received several gracious offers to swap these "wrong" hands for correct baton hands. I remain happy I never made that trade and sourced the correct hands elsewhere. These Alphas now reside, correctly, on a 2998-4.

I would have, if shipping to Canada was an option.

Was watching that too, did the additional parts make any difference?
    I'd say no.
