Military usually gets a larger audience and more money. Beats me why people are so obsessed with military and war artifacts.

If it wasn't issued by a government it ain't military. Nice old three hander ... cheeky price.

Yes, it is priced way too high, and the use of "Calatrava" is silly, but your other criticism is too harsh. The seller says "Military style", and makes no claim of it being actually military issue. Nothing wrong with that.

Fair point. Big question is why they think they can get that number for it. It's very nice at $5-700.

Ha ha! that must be because I just emailed him, he just edited the ad!
An hour ago it said "military officer's watch" not "military style"!
So I asked him what country issued it to what branch of the military, and whether military watches could be sold by jewelers.
At least it proves he's a bit serious about it.

PS - you can see the initial title is still embedded in the URL of the Ebay link I posted.

While I am in no way condoning the listing, I'll play devil's advocate. I doubt that the seller expects to get that price, but it may well enhance any offers that he receives. That's a game that many sellers play, and it undoubtedly works at times.

I agree with your assessment of the value, though some people go gaga over double-signed dials.

    Syrte;

You gotta admit that it would look good on your wrist. Go ahead and make him an offer he can't refuse.

+1 Make an offer. No one is buying that for his ask.

I'm wondering if the sub-dial is low off-center, or is it just sunk so low that parallax error makes it look so?

...and yeah, crazy price. We should all place offers at 1/5-1/10th his ask just to mess with him!

It might be the plexi, but I think the minute markers seems uneven?!
Surely not to the Longines standard if so....

You gents are trying to tempt me, the hands are beautiful and it is the perfect size, but at that price I'd want more color on the dial.

@dougiedude, this is a particular subdial design. And yeah, your idea of placing a bunch of reasonable offers would be really funny !

I think you're right, the minute markers seems uneven between 5 and 6... .but the dial is original for sure.

    Hi

That sounds like collective barging... hahahah...... if you get enough people making offers in that range I think you might be able to tip the scales..
