Yep... This article sold me on the watch, just hoping I did not go too high above market value: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/bring-a-loupe-february-5-2016
Wrong chrono hand and possible replacement minute/hour hands. Possibly luminova? But did you overpay??
I don't think you over paid that watch is beautiful (i looked at it longingly for some time), but i am not a stickler on 100% correctness, if a watch speaks to me and it is the right price for me then ...
Congratulations on the 105.003-64, here is a listing for the spear-shaped seconds hand: http://tinyurl.com/j7u8wot
I don't think you overpaid. Even disregarding the blue bezel, this is an attractive Ed White compared with many others currently on offer. Now that 2998s are commanding the kind of prices that 2195s did a couple of years ago, who can tell where these, the cheapest straight lug Speedmasters, will go in terms of value. Well done and hope it looks great in the metal.
You can find a chrono hand cheaper than the linked one on eBay. @red00005 as you know, I expressed my thoughts to you in the other thread about this. I also looked longingly at this watch and was in the fray long past where I should've been as I looked at this as a sound investment watch given the current market trends. There was no way to win this auction without slightly overpaying, but in 6 mos to a year, I really think it will be looked back at as a bargain. That was my own personal speculation on it anyway. I'm hardly an expert, but I think given the premium many people place on bezels fading to color and the ability to point to the Hodinkee article that "this is your watch they wrote about," a small premium now was necessary but if you sell it down the road, you're not going to lose anything on it. Nice hunting and congrats again!
Fair enough! I was about to post the Ofrei link. I guess when we're talking an $11K watch, $25-50 doesn't mean much!
