Stop giving me ideas. I have too many as it is.
One of my SF costumer freinds worked for JPL and would make things like historical replica costumes from mars airbag fabric. Once vetted this stuff is sold through off the shelf retailers as the so called space fabrics can have more mundane uses.
(I really do need to go out a mow the lawn. I keep hitting command-R instead.)
LOL. I am having enough trouble finding time to sew some wrist straps for myself using old pipe organ leather.
No pics from the 1990s Science fiction conventions of the other performers. Digital photography did not exist. There were pro photographers who kept the negatives for themselves. Prints were sold to the participants who signed release forms.
Best I can do is a photo of myself and the Adelmous Fey pnuematic robot from my website. Amazing this website is from the mid 1990s. 30 years ago! The convention was in 1993! Took a few years to create the website. Which may be one of the older ones from that time still online.

Funny story was I was wearing a hooped dress. I stopped by Henry Vanderbuilt's Space Access booth. Wound up giving him a much needed break. Told everyone I was dressed up as a rocket engine. Where do the decades go?
This week, I was told, that some of the rubberized cloth used in player piano repair is back in production. This is light proof as well as gas proof. Piano pnuematics use negative pressure (vacuum) and are not forgiving of the tiniest leak. I was shown some cloth one could almost see through.
I really do have enough projects to keep me busy for 500 years! (Might be more like 2000 as I like Roman History too.)
