Actually, Sniping software. It automatically places your highest bid on eBay about 5 seconds before the auction ends. That way, no one else can see any information about your bid until it's too late to change their bids. I just lost an auction, using Gixen, to someone making a private bid that was literally 1 second after mine. It sold at my bid. Not sure I understand how that works..
If you pay the one time fee, you can adjust it down to 2 seconds. I can't explain the other issue, except possibly that the other bidder's top amount was more than yours. Always best to look at the eBay records including "hidden" bids after the auction ends. I find that Gixen's explanations are vague. gatorcpa
