I am considering adding a black dial to my collection; already own a white dial.

Has anyone done this and what are your thoughts? Happy....... regret?

If you have the white SMP, I’d think about maybe the speedy for a great pair.

Unlike a car etc, is a watch not more characterized by colour ?

if you want a black-dialed diver, at least get a different model - Planet Ocean or Seamaster 300. Or even go for a different maker - like Tudor.

But that’s me. I would be bored having identical watches that differed only by the color of the dial and bezel.

but people on here have a dozen Speedmasters with only minute differences, so who am I to say what’s right. 😉

I say go for it. I own a silver dial variant, and hope to eventually add the black dial version.

The Rolex Forum is full of collections that are nothing but different colors of Subs and GMTs. The owners of such collections seem pretty happy with them. Sometimes a good design justifies such repetition.
