    Hello all,

I am looking into buying my first good watch soon, and i am confused on which one to get out of the two.

They both look identical apart from one has GMT and a clear back casing.

Im going to look at a 2535.80.00 GMT this weekend which they have had to bring in speccialy for me to look at. (is there a reson why they are so rare?)

Correct me if im wrong but they both use the same modern Co-axel movement?

Just not sure if the GMT version is worth the extra £700.00 (£2700.00)

Thank you and look forward to your replys...... :)

I have bought 2535.80.00 GMT 4 months ago. It is handy if you are often travelling across time zone, otherwise it is identical watch with clear back casing difference.
Yes they are both use similar base caliber 2500 (The GMT caliber is called 2608), which both are based from ETA 2892 with coaxial modification.
While 2220.80 is more common, the 2535.80 is not rare at all.

If you do not really need GMT function and not too keen with clear back case, I will say go for 2220.80.00 and use the spare cash to buy another nice piece of vintage Omega. Just my 2 cents.

    Thank you for that!

I dont do allot of traverlling but i do like the clear casing..... its a shame they dont do a version like it without the GMT

Just have to think about this i guess.

I swear i found somewhere that the 535 uses a better caliber... I may ave been mistaken.

Is the back of a 2535 the same size as the one of the 2280? That is, can a donor back from a 2535 be install in the 2220?
