    I like how Schirra's Gemini 6 has an 861 movement. ;)

Nice catch, Phil. Could spend hours chilling with this stuff

Not only that, but it's a Professional dial too. That watch must have seen some sh*t

Seems like most of the 105.012s were -66CBs, but Neil Armstrong's Speedmaster (Chronograph, Armstrong, Apollo 11) was a -65 with narrow-spaced Ts:

I wonder what would happen if someone ordered an extract for that 861 serial... ::stirthepot::

I definitely considered it, but I mean it’s not like you’ve got the watch in hand

Since when did you need the watch in hand to order an extract?

What I meant is, what's the point of having an Extract for a watch you don't have?

I’d be curious as to what it says... did Omega track the replacement, and if so what holy hell would be raised when someone pulls an extract on a NASA watch.

2400xxxx lines up with a 105.012-65, so I dunno if it's a replacement movement? (Haven't read much about it if it is and that's known)

As far as pulling an Extract for a NASA watch, I kind of feel like they wouldn't issue it. If it's a watch that is not possessed by the government (such as Aldrin's watch), I think they'd probably just let the authorities know the delivery details

Are referring to the Schirra watch? There are no 861s below about 26.5m so either the serial is higher (it looks like 29m maybe) or something very interesting has happened there. The pictures clearly show an 861 movement and Pro dial in a straight lug case.

    No, Armstrong's. Schirra's was a 2998, not a 105.012

I assumed they are referring to Shirra's watch which is a total franken, hence the discussion about the exchanged movement and extracts.

We can be 100% sure that Wally Schirra, after wearing his personal Speedmaster aboard MA-8 "Sigma-7" in October 1962... used his personal CK2998-4 Speedmaster during training for Gemini VI in October-November 1965... on a Komfit Forstner or JB Champion bracelet.
Gemini VI had its launch postponed after a problem on December 12, 1965 towards December 15, 1965...
During both launch procedures Schirra wore a (NASA-issued) Speedmaster on a black velcro strap...

Either way, for an extract we need a SN. Do we have have SN’s for these watches? If so, could somebody PM them to me please...I have an idea I would like to realize.

Especially for this thread I checked the backside of the Wally Schirra photo and it looks like it was taken in late February 1965... as a backup pilot training for Gemini III but with his personal CK2998-4 Speedmaster as NASA only got 4 Speedmasters by that time (105.003-64).
