The seller was advised to provide better photos. Also, he said the watch was not running in the OF thread, and then listed it on eBay the same day saying that it was running and keeping good time.

Yes was curious about the end price of 4600$ that include a 1039 with 516 looks like plenty of room for a service , trying to compare other running sales on the Ebay

The price seems right for the risks taken here. Endpieces are too small. If altered, too bad. If 19 mm, big winner. The seller made a good profit. The buyer has to evaluate, what he actually gets. Complete service around $ 400. Condition of dial and hands in my opinion do not match. Vietnam as origin of that one might hold some surprises. I could have cancel it to sell at a better price but I will not, I am sure Paul will be happy when he receive the watch and really he has a steal deal for himself. Mark my words.

I made good profits, so will Paul. The endlink is perfectly fit and the watch is running tirelessly. Will ship to Paul this afternoon after I get back from work. Arrowhead Connie is on the way.

At least $50, unless you knew that was the winner's maximum bid;)

You will always lose an eBay auction with a very small amount. The second-highest bidder, in this case yourself, determines the sale price, as the higher bidder will only bid an incremental amount on top of your bid.
Your bid was just too low - had it been higher than the winner's, the watch had been yours.
Last-second sniping only serves to overbid those bidders who increase their bids when outbid.

I think everyone how lost out on this deal got off lightly except Paul the seller clearly stated the was wasn’t running at the time he posted it here on OF then remarkable he found a watchmaker the sameday to overhaul the movement then list it on EBAY as ( The watch is running and keeping time! 100% Original! No reserved price ) Me I would be questioning the morels of the seller !! . next up is the Connie pie pan for sale ?
    just my thought.

I don't get why people complain about being outbid by a few $. If that was their absolute maximum, they did everything they possibly could and it just wasn't to be.

I have never regretted a single good thing that I overpaid for. I have regretted the occasional bad one, but my real regrets are for stupidly trying to get something good at a cheap price. Now, if I really want something, I always bid my absolute, most bank-busting, eye-watering maximum in the final seconds. If I can't be there to do it, I leave a snipe. It never ceases to amaze me that some people start bidding fights as soon as a listing is placed. All they achieve is to put all the other potential bidders on notice and up the final price for themselves. Such people are the shill-bidder's dream.
