... there's the possibility of a very nice SM300 big triangle coming up for auction at the end of this week. It's in a f&&&ing general sale and the catalogue is only published three days before the sale with a viewing the day before.

I'll be happy to give more details once the catalogue is published because I shouldn't know that this is coming up for sale. It's fresh to market. I've seen it but not held it. I can tell you that from a few feet away it looks stunning. Don't know if anything has been redone, if the case back is correct or anything else. I'd expect this to be well into five figures and outside my budget at the moment so ... those who are looking for this sort of piece ... consider this a head's up.

Part of me thinks that i'm teasing more than a $20 whore but then I know those who will be interested might want as much time as possible to make funds available.

As for details, it was literally flashed at me from a few feet away - I will view it on Friday and can post photos the night before the sale. It will show up on your saleroom notifications. It has been held by the current owner for more than two decades. It has not been messed around with while in his possession.

That's literally all I know ... til Friday.

Military provenance with an extract specifying military delivery, correct case-back engraving, and circle-T dial can increase the value dramatically. I think that military issued pieces are usually no-date ref 165.024, but I could be wrong about that.

 

Everything bar the extract. Am I right that none are currently being issued?

 

16 6 024 and military issued... yeah sure... but only with stubbie dial and issue number 254/67
