High(er) shutter speed but even faster Foudroyante needle:

This is a Panerai Radiomir 1/8th Second, ref. PAM00246. The left needle rotates one time and ticks eight times per second. The movement OPXX1 in fact is a La Joux-Perret (formerly Jaquet) LPJ 8952, which initially was developed by Jaquet for Graham. The movement is mainly a Valjoux 7750 with integrated Rattrapante (controlled by a column wheel contrary to the normal chronograph) and Foudroyante (driven by a separate barrel) mechanisms.

    Cheers,

    Mick

Nice watch, but 1/8sec is a very slow, not high shutter speed. If you hand hold camera at 1/8sec without shake reduction, you'd have a blurry picture of every standstill subject. Try 1/16000sec for highspeed.

I thought it meant the increments measured by the sub-dial, as opposed to the shutter speed?

Yes. I'd better written "higher shutter speed" (just edited).

In fact, the shot above was taken with a shutter speed of 1/2 s, thus clearly showing the Foudroyante needle in four of eight positions.

This photo was taken at 1/15 s:

Taken for about 10min ago from the balcony. Didn't have great conditions since it's to much light from the surroundings :( Not a great picture but a cool thing to have dancing outside the window.. It's not hard to have this outside the window the coming months :D

I'm sure you can deduce the shutter speed... ;)
