Your very own Omega Lunar Module store display saving you at least $558 dollars....Priceless!!
Nice. That first one is on my watch list. The seller told me his phone was blowing up with inquiries from the USA, New Zealand, UK, etc. I bet it sells for as much as a speedmaster. I like your idea. Might be a good way to go. Wondering if they made a model for the first American space walk?
And just the muddy the water a little I just saw this second Code 3 LEMPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network display for sale on Ebay using the exact same set of pictures as the other one with 1 bid starting at $500 from a different seller in Italy?
Damn, still not a cheap model lol I was hoping the expensive one was like $600 and the cheap one was like $50 but yea thats a bit out of my diorama price bracket
I know there is a member or two here lucky enough to have the Omega Rover display in their collections. Here is a bit more on the background of the Code 3 collection produced for the National Air and Space Museum used by Omega for their displays.
Well-known display models, but I prefer the customized displays by watch/spaceflight aficionados who place their own creations temporary in the windows of OB worldwide: https://omegaforums.net/threads/coolest-omega-watch-displays.59373/#post-737756
Yep, but no need to slap anything on this one-of-a-kind display for Your EdWhite Speedmaster chronograph(s) .
If anyone here builds scale models this exact lunar landing vignette is made by Dragon models and can be build for under 100.00 US. Having built scale models for years this looks like an extremely nice kit to build and display with the addition of the Omega plaque.
Not quite a new Speedmaster in the end but still a strong price. It's going to look really nice on the new owners shelf but man that's a lot of money.
To tie this thread up and answer my original question. I had to wait for the second auction to end but the answer is NO! The "First and Only Watch on the Moon" plaque and little (metal) watch holder appears to be worth an additional $1671. My mistake in making my original observation about the display was thinking the watch holder was plastic. I was incorrect, it's metal and that is surely what drove the price up in the end.
Great thread. Shows just how insane the pseudonauts are when it comes to anything NASA, space, or Speedmaster related.
Seeing this reminded me that I had a lunar module model that I would play with as a kid! Oh, the simple days...
