Size comparison: Speedy and Zenith Chronomaster?

I’m considering adding a Zenith to my collection.

Is there anyone here who happens to have a Speedy Pro and a Chronomaster/Revival who is willing to make a side-by-side photo as a size comparison?

The Speedy wears perfectly on my wrist, and looks slightly smaller than the 42mm it is on paper. I’m curious how it compares to the 37/38mm Zeniths..

Thanks!

Had an old pic on my phone which is close to what you're looking, will be able to take a new pic when it's daytime again:

Wow, thanks, that’s helpful! I’m surprised how much visual presence that blue Revival has compared to the Speedy!

Looks like the dial size is virtually identical even between the two.

Yes the covergirl has great visual presence due to the blue dial, one of my favorite pieces:

Absolutely gorgeous. I'm in a bit of a conundrum at the moment: the revival (notably the A3817 and the A385/cappuccino) used to be my "Perhaps, one day"-watches.

I now have the funds - and the green light from the wife - to get a 9-10K€ Zenith, which will probably be the crown on my modest collection.
So looking into the Revivals, I notice that many reviewers mention how charming and pretty it is, but that the finishing is not what you could expect of the watch in this price range. I must admit that gives me pause. And it's the reason I'm now also looking into the Defy Skyline series.

Back to the subject of size: it's amazing how the 37mm Revival here looks almost bigger than the 41mm Defy... 😲

The A3817 dial is fantastic. The A385 cappuccino on the other hand is quite disappointing in person. I would strongly recommend checking out the A385 in person. And I would say the case finishing is in the same level as any of the 3861 Speedmasters. I have several closeups posted in the 'For Sale' section. That should give you a very good idea of the finishing level. It is a very charming watch indeed. The reviewers are right.

BTW, that is not the 37mm A3817 Revival next to the Defy in the picture you had posted. It is the 40mm limited edition of 500 pieces released in 2009 to celebrate the 50th anniversary. It was also quite thick at around 14 or 15mm. There was a rose gold version with brown sub-dials as well. That one for sure does not appear well finished. The newer A3817 Revival for sure is in a different level.

That explains. If you couldn't tell yet, I'm a Zenith noob, totally unaware of all the special editions 😒

Anyway, I'm seriously leaning towards the A385 at the moment. I know I will probably change my mind a few times before settling on my final purchase - but that may very well ultimately be the one, because I've always loved that reference ever since first seeing it online.

What is the reference for that model? Long sold out, I assume.

Very hard to find indeed:
18.A386.400/69.C807 rose gold
65.A386.400/69.C815 white gold
30.A386.400/69.C807 yellow gold

You could also search for the G381 which is a gold panda one which is available on C24 in the US:

30.G381.400/21.C807

Quick update: thanks for the input and encouragement. I now have an A384 Revival on the Gay Frères bracelet on the way!

I couldn't make up my mind on which colorway to go for, so I asked my wife. She had a very definite preference for the original panda dial - so panda dial it is!

Can't wait!
