Look at these two and compare index. Both are 2639. The first one you see often. Lume on the bottom down of the index. But look at the second one, looks like the same model except for the index, the lume is moved "up" a bit in to the index. The second one is much more rare to see. Were there just different kind of index and the first one is more common or is there's something weird going on?
And here's another one that looks very similiar to the one above but with silver colored index instead of gold.
Why so many threads about this https://omegaforums.net/threads/different-markers-are-both-correct.97727/ As mentioned before. Same watch can have different dials, different metal markers, different lume amounts. Reason Several dial makers in the hey day, different amounts of lume and hands changed from services over the years some may have been redone. These are all common accuracies in vintage watches that are 50-60 years old. As has been said there may have been 3-4 dial makers, 5 different hand makers in the era this watch was released. The dial makers would all of had different lume they used and the hand makers would have had different lume also. You can also get 3 different cases as cases were different between the UK, USA and South America as it was not unusual for watches to be cased in the country they were sold.
Honestly just forgot about that thread. Why wouldn't I like the answers? It was great answers then and great now. Sorry my memory is not what it used to be. @STANDY thanks! Again... Haha.
Would be cool to see where the most common were made and the other one etc. But that's way to complicated and nerdy I guess. And honestly not that interesting but for some reason that got stuck in my head.
