·As the old saying goes, never pass up an opportunity for something as it might not come around again. Came across this a little while ago, been digging in and researching before deciding to pull the trigger to acquire this Silver Snoopy award.
Seller who I purchased this from lives close to the Edwards Air Force base area, does estate sales and bought an old shoebox of stuff. Had a combination of NASA pins and early 80s political pins & memorabilia. Probably changed hands a few times best he could tell. This pin was found amongst the others.
From researching it and the markings of the back, it's most likely a Varient 49, with most of the S missing. Falls right into the Shuttle era around the early to mid 80s.
Find it fitting to share it today in conjunction with the safe return of the Artemis II crew from their historic Moon mission and the new dawn of manned deep space exploration.
