Just wondering what everybody’s thoughts are on Silvana - have my eye on one and I rarely see any talk In the forum.

Nice watch. I guess there is a Venus 170 inside.

I have only owned one Silvana, a few years ago, and do not know much about this brand. It had a nice dial and an ETA movement, maybe a 1080. I could not find any pic when searching today.

I guess Silvana was one if those "emboiteurs" casing Swiss made movements. All I know is there were based at Tramelan (Swiss Jura) and also sold watches to the US.

I had one recently which I bought from a boot sale for £25. It has a nice black dial and was made for the german military police.

Is that a hole in the lower right lug?

Buying a Venus 170 is one way to get a cheap column wheel chronograph, as not everyone likes the vertical arrangement and they don't usually make a lot.

Yes, nasty hole in the lug. The seller mentions it.

I honestly thought it was a Portugal hallmark but I couldn't really tell based on the photos the seller provided. You guys have convinced me to purchase this one haha, thank you to all for the input!

I've been on massive hunt for this particular moonphase Silvana for the longest time but can never find one for sale, love this one in SS. There are some floating around in gold:

Arrived, this thing is even better in person. Now I feel the difference with a column wheel chronograph haha

The seller had two, I purchased the one without the hole in one of the lugs (or portugal hallmark, can't tell) which was also less expensive. The case on that one appears to be a little different too. I would never return it, wearing at work as I type this :)

I would love to bid on this - but have no idea how it would work for US buyers since buyer is responsible for arrangements. Found myself a new appreciation for these old Silvana chronographs

I wouldn't bother. It's a very ordinary chronograph with a run-of-the-mill Landeron 248 movement and a dial in mediocre condition. You should find something a lot better in the US without too much difficulty, and it will be much cheaper without the auction commission, postage and customs fees.

That's the thing - I've had a rough time finding anything here other than ebay unfortunately. It's a decent poor mans vintage chrono but I see what you mean
