side of moon - leather strap holes too far apart

I have had a blue side of the moon for quite a few years now. I really like the leather strap and the deployant clasp, but recently my wrist is such a size that one notch inward is too tight and one notch the other way is too lose.

I'd rather keep using the deployant as I much prefer them to tangs, especially for ceramic watches. Omega boutique said there's no strap with closer spaced holes. Anyone solved this dilemma before?

Custom made could be the solution, most likely cheaper too and more possibilities in leather options, lining, stitching. Aaron Bespoke (check his Instagram) might be able to help you out.

Use a leather punch to make a hole between the other two. I do this all the time and have never had a strap fail. Just use the smallest hole setting you need.

I use one like this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004T7WS/ref=emc_bcc_2_i

that I purchased from Tandy leather (remember them?) 40 years ago. One of the few things I have owned for that long!

nifty thx

these straps have this double sided reinforcement of what I think is rubber surrounding the holes to prevent wear I guess - I wonder if it'll be possible to punch through that reinforcement

Yes. I had a Dark Side of the Moon strap a few years ago and had to punch a hole. It was a similar set up. A little harder and had to punch it a couple times, but it worked.

I bought a watch strap hole punch several years ago and it's added life to so many straps that were "in between." You can get them on Amazon for something like $7-$8.
