Is there a way to reduce the amount of space taken up by the sticky threads? On the modern Omega forum they take up the first full page on my tablet. Is there a way to shrink them, or turn them off?
I know, I could also read the WUS forum, but let's assume just for amusement that I want to read the latest posts in the modern Omega forum, without the stickies, and without the latest stuff in all the other forums. How do I do that?
Modern Omega, vintage Omega, Longines, Heure, Tissot, Certina, Rolex, Tudor, is there really that much of a difference?
Any development on this? Standy's statement is not true, and I somewhat doubt the truthfulness of Jiminoz's as well... Some of the stickies have outlived their usefulness, and should be retired.
There is only 7 of them in the Modern Omega forum yet 14 in the vintage. On a iPad I get 7 stickies and 49 threads on the first page. Which of the 7 would you deem to be retired ?
Sorry guys, I am not a native English speaker nor am I a tech expert. Could someone tell me please what a „sticky thread“ is? (really want to know)
The first threads on the page below. The ones called Sticky Threads. Usually have rules and common threads. Seems the OP has a scrolling issue as I have 49 threads under 7 stickies on the first page. Scrolling is done by moving finger/Thumb on screen from bottom to top gently. You need a mouse (not a real one) for a computer.
Standy's picture is self-explanatory: 2/3 of the page (seven of ten topics) is taken up by stuff nobody needs to see again every single time they look at the forum. To be specific, I would at the minimum retire #1 ('show us...'), #3 ('pressure testing'), #6 (200 posts..) and #7 (video interview). The rest I'm not interested in myself, but maybe they are frequently searched for. The site hit statistics should give us quantitative information on whether they need to be retained. I'd suggest any thread not in the top 1% of threads visited for more than four weeks gets dropped. Some of the removed stickies could become stickies in a 'resources' sub-forum.
But you can scroll to another 46 threads on the first page #1 is mine. And it has stopped thousands of people starting threads with a picture of their new Speedmaster but instead adding to the awesome thread created by me years ago. Along the way becoming the best resource for seeing hundreds of Speedmasters on different straps #6 is the most missed rule And it stops people asking why they can’t sell with only 3 posts. We have all seen the hundreds of threads on this subject.
