Let's face it - we've all been caught ogling over ultra fine or ultra rare movements or references - but so many of us have also found a love for the under-appreciated and affordably priced. Post shots of the watch of the least monetary value that you love to wear and own.
Cost me about GBP 50. Loved it so much I gave it a full service so total cost is higher but still... Have several others in the same category.
Have to say, I was at a watch dealer yesterday and a bloke walks in and is negotiating on a Patek Philippe Aquanaut, and as he's going back and forth on price he says "Mate, its only an ENTRY LEVEL Patek, its not like its a proper one". Half the guys in the shop cracked up at that.
I love that square Girard Perregaux Gyromatic! For me, it's the Seiko Sports-Timer cal 6139B which I'm wearing today. Just under $200 for a delightful retro trip back to the 70's
Besides a handful of vintage Bulova, here's yet another Seiko. I always have a Seiko for a beater. Here's the previous one:
This Seiko 5717 was about 100. Really wish there were more one button chronos around - love the minimalistic design.
Here is mine - CWC G10 issued military watch: It was issued in 1989. I think I paid something like 60 UKP for it going from memory. Cheers, Al
This was my biggest value, an Eterna (bumper) Automatic: Cost was the princely sum of $42. This one was not my cheapest watch, but it might be someone else's: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Ladies-TIFFANY-CO-18K-Gold-Watch-1916-Longines-15-Jewel-Wire-Lug-/191099162335?Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network At least their cheapest 18K gold Tiffany/Longines! gatorcpa
