These are my 2 favorite but inexpensive watches that I happily show off to friends every time I wear them. Titus Calypsomatic w/ gloss gilt dial Technos Sky Diver w/ tropical dial
Are watches we got for free, eligible? I’ll show a few of mine. The Gruen Veri-Thin and the Rolex Air-King are the only two that were new when I acquired them. It’s so nice to be remembered when someone is wanting to re-home a treasured watch! Several of these were basket cases when I acquired them. So I have a bit of sweat equity invested in some of them.
Both watches I found for reasonable prices, but I guess I was quite lucky to find them... Alpina Oriental
These two - The Citizen Auto field watch came in a job lot of 50 watches I bought on eBay for £150 so I make that £3 and the Seiko was £50 off eBay...
If the Titus was that inexpensive, I’m happy to do you a favour and take it off your hands for a £100 or so
Having looked at these on Ebay recently, do either of these qualify as "inexpensive" watches anymore?
Two cheap watches bought years apart , the Seiko 6139 was cheap over 20 years ago at about £30 .And the Savoy bought yesterday for £45 at a watch fair .
$75 for this very early circa 1956 SeaPearl with "Sherpas" on the dial and turtle lugs. And my NOS Lanco Rocketeer for $20
It was relatively cheap then when I acquired both watches. Anyway, let me add 2 more that I like using for all occasions.
Been wearing this Midland a lot lately. Got it on a very nicely done copy of an old school Speidel band for now, very comfortable on the wrist. Weighs next to nothing, 25 jewel self winding. This old Benrus has been on my wrist more than any other. Keeps great time. Needs a new stem though. I have a three pack of NOS stems, but haven't gotten around to trying to fit one yet. I have a complete running movement I could swap out if need be, or at least swap stems. As comfortable as they come, with nice Speidel band. Each of these cost me less than 20 USD.
This one is my favourite and least expensive watch I have costing £170. A couple of decades ago or thereabouts.... It had a bracelet way back then which has long since disintergrated. If only I could remember what I did with the parts! My second least expensive is my 16800 over on the WRUW.
