Don’t feel bad, dude...the only thing I was offered at the Chicago OB was “to be tolerated”...but only for a short period of time. As my parents would often say, “That’s better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!”

At the Chicago OB some time ago...and as usual, I was having a bad hair day...

Well buying an ST2 Ultraman wasn't enough to get me an invitation to the Sydney OB holiday party.

Not much, really. They gave me two pens a couple of years ago. Like an idiot, I tossed both pen boxes. Then again, I keep the pens in my desk and use them on rare occasions. The OB has since provided me with a few goodies - a hat, loupe, 'swiss army' style Omega pocket knife, magazines, and a 2 hour, hands-on watchmaker tutorial. At the OB, I am treated surprisingly well, given my limited patronage. I have brought my 2254.5000 in only once for servicing. The main AD I bought it from in 2008 stopped selling Omega once the OB was opened for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. I have yet to be invited to special parties and such, but I'll take the pens, knife and attendant goodies over the champagne any day!

 

I had to buy a First Omega in Space Speedmaster.
