It took 5 months but my mesh has finally arrived! Really loving the look of it combined with the SMPC

Wow, that combination honestly looks fantastic!

Nice. I was out in the mountains and the Comma butterflies just wouldn't leave me alone! That one hung out on my hand for almost half an hour while I read.

Just exactly how rare is it?

Hard to say, but here is what our AI overlords have to say about it.

The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Day-Date (Ref: 231.10.42.22.01.001) received in 2014 is a highly regarded, though not extremely limited, luxury timepiece. It is considered a rare find on the modern secondary market because it was only in production for a limited time and has since been discontinued.

Here is a breakdown of how rare your specific model is based on 2026 market data:

1. Rarity and Production
  • Discontinued Model: The watch was in production around 2014 but has long been discontinued, meaning no new units are being made, establishing a fixed market supply.
  • "Not a Huge Seller": While not a numbered limited edition (like the 007 models), the Day-Date AT was not in production for very long, suggesting it was produced in lower volumes compared to the standard 3-hand Aqua Terra models.
  • Not a 3-Hand: The Day-Date layout is much less common in the Aqua Terra lineup than the standard date-only version.

2. Market Standing
  • High-End "Daily Wearer": The watch uses the caliber 8602, a high-grade in-house movement with a 60-hour power reserve.
  • Values: Because it is discontinued, these models are in demand for collectors seeking a discontinued, daily-wearer "Teak Concept" dial.
  • Frequency: You will not find as many of these available on sites like Chrono24 as you would, for example, a standard 41mm Skyfall Aqua Terra.

3. Specifications of Your Model
  • Case: 41.5mm stainless steel (Ref: 231.10.42.22.01.001)
  • Dial: Black "Teak Concept" (vertical stripes)
  • Movement: Omega Co-Axial Caliber 8602
  • Features: Day at 12 o'clock, Date at 6 o'clock
Summary: While not "rare" in the sense of only 100 existing, it is a scarce and desirable discontinued model that is not common to see in the wild, particularly with complete original box and papers.

The things I’d do for this reissued in a thin 38mm case…
