There is never enough love for these gems, the battery discrimination is real. Must be plenty here for display though so come on, let's see those Seventies classics(32Khz and 2.4Mhz, let's no discriminate, they're all beautiful beasties)!

I'll start with my one and only(for now, some day would like to add another).

Hope to see a good collection here.

I believe that photo is to scale, and your watch is the same size as your yorkie

Apologies for the rubbish photos. This was the first omega watch I bought. It was sitting in a watch shop after being in a safe for nearly 40 years forgotten. It did not have an original strap on it but I found a period correct strap after a few years. I still have it but don t wear it as often as I used too, a symptom of having too many watches and not enough days in the week.

    Hi,

    its a 196.0054 Seamaster Mariner 1.
The width without crown is 39 x 41,5 mm but wears much bigger. To me it has a massive appearance.

    Kind regards Max

Best deal in vintage Omega. I got lucky and bought this very nice one with original bracelet for under $300.
Purists knock them because of what quartz watches become in the late 70s, but when these were sold in the early 70s they were high tech, high priced luxury items costing more than many of Omega's mechanical
    models.
I love the classic elegant shape and dial mixed with the black hands with blunt hour hand that tell you there's a serious scientific instrument inside.

And I found a non working piece priced at USD$614 and wonder if I should take it and pay to repair it.

If you find a good working donor movement why not, but It seems to be a little overpolished to me.

    Kind regards Max

You meant find a working quartz movement and replace it?
