I’m very fond of GMT watches. I believe this is the most useful complication available. However, in my opinion there aren’t many quality GMT ‘s under $2500. Prove me wrong. Show us your GMT under $2500 and tell us why you think it is a quality piece.

I don't know what this sold for new but I picked it up used for $1600 and had it overhauled for around $650 so that is under your limit by a little bit. Pressure tested, keeping chronometer spec time and excellent legibility.

Are you including Quartz movements or only Automatics, if your including Quartz then I put forward the Citizen World Time GMT . The thing is bulletproof & you can take it off the wrist forget about it for a couple of months ( like me , only put it on to post in this thread) , then pop it on & its good to go . And you can buy one for less than $250.00 nevermind $2500.00 . 20191214_182356.jpg

I was actually going to link to this watch- awesome, comes in two color ways, and a great reintroduction of the original. And the originals can still be had below $1k...for now.

I've been keeping an eye out for a good example in the UK but alas no luck so far.

Very nice! At 39mm it’s a great size. Lugs are 19mm. Why do they do that? The website says it is sold out. Of course!

This is my newest under $1500 GMT model that is being shipped to me this week.

I spent a little less than $1,500 on this Glycine Airman including the purchase and a full service.

I forgot about this one, arriving next June. I only ordered this one because I'm giving away my 3-hand Glycine Pepsi Diver as a Christmas present.

I think 19mm lugs look just a little more proportional for a 39mm watch, but yeah it does make it a little less versatile. Though, most 20mm NATOs will work as long as you use curved springbars.

It's sold out for now (was a limited edition) but you can keep an eye out for them on the secondary market. One or two have already popped up, and so far they're just at MSRP - nobody's trying to flip them... yet

I didn’t know they made a combat sub GMT. Arriving June? Did you pre-order? I totally missed this.

PS I like the Hammy too. I have a Hammy GMT myself and it punches way above its price point.

Good timing on this thread, I’m currently looking for another GMT. I’ve been looking at this same watch, the Hammy Jazzmaster GMT. Can you tell me, does the 24hr hand set separately or does the bezel rotate to change the second time zone? Looking for a better travel watch so would love your opinion without hijacking your thread. :)

it runs on an ETA 2893-2 like most of the GMT/UTC watches in this price point. It does not have a jumping hour hand. The way I use it is to set the main hands to local time and then set the 24 hour hand to home. It is a two step process but it only takes a minute. For a jumping hour hand you have to look at the Omega and Rolex GMT’s among others. The rotating bezel is a timing bezel which is a bit odd. A rotating 24 hour bezel would have been more appropriate. The lume also leaves something to be desired. In spite of all of this it is a very nice watch with a super finish and a beautiful dial that has applied indices. It is sporty with 200m water resistance, but fits well under a sleeve and dresses nicely so it is a great all purpose travel watch. The movement is also spot on. Hamilton sends them out finely tuned and mine runs +2 seconds a day. For what I paid it is superb.

They can still be found at the budget listed in great condition.

If only I had the wrists of an adult male instead of vintage-friendly chopsticks, I would have bought one of the Orient Star GMTs.

There is a version with a black dial and internal 24-hour bezel which is also very cool, but they are both fairly large and wear so too, so no doubt out of my comfort zone. Independent GMT hand, hacking seconds, quick set date, etc. Way less than $2500.

But you have the ability to rock a 31mm watch and not look like you raided the wife’s jewelry box.
