Brief story: Took my watch off and was happily surprised by the caseback. I had forgotten that it had this cool caseback. Made me wonder about all the other interesting casebacks and looked for a thread but didn't see ine. If you have a favorite caseback and would like to share, please do. Even if it's the same as this one, your photography will make it unique. Sapphire casebacks and movement shots would also be interesting.
‘73 Bulova Spaceview. There’s no crown on these so the time is set via the collapsable handle on the back. The notched access port is for the battery
And one I altered to run sdrawkcab. I had a dial made with the numerals to match. Then I got tired of having to tell people it wasn’t a quartz made to run sdrawkcab. So I cut a hole in the case back, and fitted a mineral crystal. Runs well, and keeps decent time. The ultimate answer to anyone who doesn’t have enough hours in a day. This one gives you 48 hours in a day! (FYI. Presently it is reading 09:11.)
Nice idea for a thread. My 145.012.. July 69 with a display caseback + the original with a 3570.50.00 .
Some amazing watches on that thread as well. Thanks. It inspired me to try a modern one as well (DSOTM :0)
I used to own the Speedyorite, that caseback takes some beating! This is my nicest one, Alexander Shorokhoff with hand engraved movement.
Ya I agree with pdx that is amazing and I imagine hard to top. I am not familiar with the brand, hand engraving, very nice. Is that limited edition or special order? Really next level look so impressive
Bulova of modest means. Chrome plate on brass. 10mm x 25mm ladies' watch in the style of the day. Engagement gift from my grandfather to my grandmother. Value: priceless
