·I started my Omega journey with a 36mm sword hand quartz Pre Bond, followed by a 2264.50 Quartz Peter Blake. From the beginning, this handset has always appealed to me. After the quartz Blake, a couple of skeleton hand Seamasters have came and gone, but in the end I always gravitated back to the trusty swords. I have currently settled on my personal grail, a beautiful ‘Great White’ Seamaster GMT from 2006. The sword handset of this particular reference is really cool. They are a matte silver in the centre, followed by a glossy black coating towards the tip. The silver centre part almost ‘disappears’ along with the brushed steel look of the watch, leaving the remaining black hands with a ‘floating’ look.
I also recently obtained this Omega catalogue from 2001. I figured it would be a fun addition to the collection considering it contains the Great White, a multitude of other sword hand models as well as a price sheet (in Euros). The Seamaster selection in this particular year seemed to consist of 20 watches, of which 13 were sword hand models. I’ll include some catalogue pages and a price sheet below for those who are interested!
Pretty much all of the sword hand models look fantastic imo, you could probably have a great time collecting them alone. Many seem to share my love for the sword hand models, so i figured it’d be fun to dedicate a thread specifically to them. Looking forward to see those sword hands in action! ⚔️
