    HI all,

I don't post often but thought I'd come for some assistance. When I first saw the newish Speedy Pro Racing/Tintin online (the 311.30.42.30.01.004), I have to admit that I was, seemingly, one of the few who liked it. I saw it in person in London at Heathrow right after the launch and really liked it...the price was also good. But, I had been on a bit of a spree and told myself to wait. Well, yesterday, I was in HK Airport and saw it again and the fire has restarted. Sadly, in HK, the prices are high so I didn't even think of making a move.

So, here's my dilemma. I don't own a Speedy at all. I do love the classic Speedy Pro but I kind of have my heart set on buying a vintage 321 piece one day despite the minefield-filled vintage market. Therefore, I have convinced myself that an alternative dial on a new model such as the Racing would be a nice way to shake up my collection of other, mostly black-dialled watches.

If anyone has any pics wearing (or otherwise), of the Racing model, I'd love to see them. Furthermore, if you have one on a strap, I'd really love to see that! I've never really liked the polished center-link pieces on the current Speedy bracelet, so it would likely be jettisoned to the drawer no matter what dial I choose.

Thanks and looking forward to seeing some pics!

    Mike

Looks like it is so unloved that we could corner the market. In 10 years, we'll have the next grail. Lol!

I understand that the Tintin was recently available at the Omega Boutique in Dubai for up to 40% off...does anyone know if I can get that good a deal here in Canada?

Last March I saw this model in Jeddah and Abu Dhabi. After 15% discount it costs approx USD 4,100 including tax (well there is no tax in Jeddah)

The TinTin is a GREAT watch. Love the connection and the dial design.

It would be great if Omega got the deal with Herge publisher and become real Tintin Speedy (like Snoopy award Speedy). Too bad Herge publisher refused the deal.

Mmm from memory their lawyers even complained to RJ at Fratellowatches when he showed some cover art from the relevant comic, he left the article up and only removed the pic, before including in the footer that they forced him to do it lol

Yeah a little pathetic IMHO. What will they do next? Trawl the net and sue everyone with a tintin image on their site?

    Jokers.

Tintin franchise is really under managed and under leveraged. Compare it to Simpsons or Starwars franchise and you know it is like a dwarf, while its potential probably not smaller.
Somebody should fire their business manager........

I had thought about buying the Tintin Speedmaster just so I could put this strap on it:
