Should the Omega and helium crown both align horizontally or is it random?

New here, so sorry if the answer is obvious, but I couldn't find an answer with the forum search. Just got my NTTD seamaster and was wondering if the omega and the HE crown is supposed to align horizontally with the watch case once screwed down.

No. Positions will be random, depending on finger torque, case tube/crown wear and manufacturing tolerances.

Check this postwhy it can't be 100% horizontal:

That makes perfect sense. I had never thought about it much before since my previous seikos had the S aligned perfectly, but I guess it is a luck of the draw.

In my experience of (too many) Seikos, getting any sort of alignment of any aspect of the watch, from chapter ring to bezel to movement, below a Marinemaster is little short of miraculous. I love 'em, but it's very much an "adjust expectations" arrangement.

Can always cheat by screwing/ unscrewing to the point at which each lines up, I guess.

Anecdotally, my 300 Heritage lines up, for now, whilst my SMP 300 white dial doesn't. So it goes. Upthread vid a very helpful explainer.

Terrible. I think this requires a repair under warranty. Yet another QC issue for this entry-level watch. 🙄

I tried that, and now my crown is stuck forever and the He valve broke. Wasn`t pliers and a wise the right tools?
