Trade my SMPC blue for a tag heuer Carrera racing chronograph cal 1887 with the red stitching?
Love both as well but already have the submariners (3 of them)
    Thanks

I'd never trade an Omega for a TAG. Heuer maybe, but not a TAG.

I wouldn't as well...but with 4 divers in the stable..it makes sense to diversify

Diversify if you want, I personally have six 150m+ rated watches (PO, 3x Diver 300m, 2x Aqua Terra).

Get a speedmaster, but not a tag. There is no comparison between an omega and a tag imo!!!

All right, all right. It looks like you really like the tag so... Get the tag, I fell for that one too once. I fell in love with a tag I saw on a display counter and bought it just to realize a few weeks later that it wasn't what I wanted to have among my other watches and sold the damn thing. Every morning I went to my watch box and ended wearing something else.

I like that reasoning--if you have a choice and never end up wearing something, you can probably live without it. I came to the same conclusion about one omega in my collection. Haven't felt like putting it on in several months.

With 4 divers..one speedy ...one tag cal 36...I'm thinking it makes sense to switch the omega for the tag

How about a nomos or go senator? Seems you're missing a dress watch? How about a pre owned Zenith cal 400 El primero chronograph? How about a pre owned Grand Seiko spring drive, set the time once a year? Another alternative would be a nice Heuer camaro in the 3k range. I'm sure you can think of many possibilities yourself! The only reason to buy a watch is that you want to. Nobody else can dissuade you, once you've made your mind. I personally think modern Tag Heuer watches are garish and mundane... But someone else may find them beautiful and special. Both views are completely valid to their respective view holders. Good luck with your new watch!

Buy the Tag if you want it. Get on another forum and just as many people will tell you Omegas are crap. It is all a marketing illusion... It is your money, so it really is your opinion that counts. I love Omega and have a "few" as well as other brands. However, it is actually my 1887 that gets compliments from women and men alike when I wear it. Perhaps they like the watch, or just know the name. Whatever, I am not insecure enough to dress for other people's pleasure. I will also tell you I bought it over an IWC that I swore I wanted more than anything until it was on my wrist. If u don't like it sell it. It is just a "thing" and part of the hobby. When you find the right watch or watches, you will know it...
