Hello again, I purchased an Omega Seamaster today. I was also planning to buy this 1944 Omega JUMBO 39mm Ref 2272-1 Cal. 30Т2, Solid Gold Bezel. However I let it pass. The price would’ve been about $1000. Below are the attached pictures. Should I have purchased it? Was this a steal? The quality looks really good however I don’t know if it was a good purchase. Please let me know and thank you for the help again ❤️
thank you for replying again XJR. Can you educate me why it was smart to pass? I just want to be as educated as possible on these vintage watches
Took the words right out of my mouth. Terrible re-dial, badly polished, bezel probably not original, regulator position suggests the movement is in bad need of servicing, and other issues. Way over-priced for what it is, and really not worth buying at all IMO.
Bad redial and a good pass. It would be worth spending time reading various threads on this forum to build your knowledge prior to buying.
Hello, could you please share why it is a redial? I'd love to learn so I can spot such things more easily in the future. Thanks!
For completion I want to add: Ref 2272 does not have a diameter of 39mm (maybe including crown...) - its diameter is 37.5 mm
