Hi all,

Considering on getting the following vintage Longines. Was told that the time piece is from the 60s and a manual wind. Unfortunately I don't have images of the movement but the seller is a big watch collector who is big on original pieces and I have met in person.

Thoughts? Anyone perhaps know if this particular model? Does dial look legit?

Thanks

Hard to fake these.
Thanks for your feedback on this. At first glance it seems pretty nice. Wished the seller though knew of what movement was inside.

Looks nice.

Is the case gold-plate?

Larry S speaks the truth!

Not sure of the reference, but the movement is very likely the 30L, the main workhorse of the era...

Excellent question, might be gold filled. The seller mentioned that precious metals didn't mean much to him so it could be plated.

would you happen to know when Longines moved away from the 30L? Did they make any other manual calibres apart from the 30L during the 60s?
Thanks

Keep an eye on those lugs. Look like they have had a rough go of it. I'd get a few more looks at it. Looks like a bit of a gouge at 11.

Good call on that. Bottom left hand lug as well almost looks a bit bent but that might just be the angle.

Mine has a 23Z. Slight dial variation but essentially same waffle dial although mine is dirtier 😬 with a subtle crosshair as well. Mine is stainless and I would guess that one is gold-filled but would need to see the caseback. For the right price, a nice find with the clean dial.

It looks really nice and dial looks original but if it’s gold filled or 14k makes a very big difference on price.

Those poor lugs! Sure signs of having had the questionable honour of being put on a fixo-flex bracelet at some point. Look at how gouged they are on the inside - a clear pass from me 🙁

Those lugs could probably be re-formed to their correct shape by a skilled jeweler. The dial is really what I'd buy that watch for, though.

You would have to add material to where the lugs have been gouged out. And if the watch is gold capped it gets really tricky... The whole procedure is expensive to begin with.

It’s all about price and your taste . I personally love sub goal watches
