    Hi Everyone,
First post here and very excited to be a part of this forum. I was looking at this watch on Friday, can't decide if I should buy or not. Price is fairly steep at $7,900, but seems hard to come by this condition. What do you think? Any advice is much appreciated. Uni Compax.jpeg

Hello and welcome to the forum. :)

It's nice to see you go straight for the good stuff!

That being said, $7,900 is a egregious sum of money for that watch.

I don't think any here would pay more than $3,000 for that example and not even many would pay that. I would either move on or prepare for heavy negotiation.

Pieces in impeccable condition demand exceptional prices. But that's outrageous.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Anyone concerned about a possible redial?

Got one probably from the same era, I paid less than 1/3 of the asking price you got though (valjoux 23, so if yours is in house maybe should have better value). Good luck!

I respectfully submit that a 1960s Valjoux-powered piece at about 35mm (correct?) and a 38mm rose gold UG-powered example from the 1950s, esp in one of the ref 124xxx cases is a bit of an apples and oranges comparison, though they are both great pieces. Of course, condition, condition, condition applies to all watches, but I would say that the case of the OPs watch is much harder to find in good shape. It is extremely easy to kill those lug facets with a sloppy polish.

Sorry, stupid me to not notice it is 38mm, but I suspect it must be older than mine (I.e. Still using UG caliber). And yep, mine is valjoux 23 sir.
