    Hi Folks,

I will like to share some pics of a couple of new arrivals which arrived during the week. These are my first Longines and really excited about them. Maybe even more excited than a couple of my Omegas. Is it an heresy to say that here?:p On to the pics and sorry about the poor quality as I took them with my phone. Not much of a photographer and the wife decided to declare herself as the sole owner of the good camera.:(

Crown is not correct but hope to find a correct one some day.

How many times did you guys buy a watch and something more desirable pops up. This second one popped up and I was not too sure if I should go for it. Decided that I am not going to miss it.

This one is interesting. Seller says it is a cal 294 and I saw the pic with bridge marked 294. But it should be a 291 according to Dennis in a separate post.

Unfortunately the enamel paint on both cases are not complete. Guess I have to live with that. Hope I did not bore you guys too much and thanks for looking.

Not as far as I'm concerned!

To expand on the 294 / 291 conversation, Longines did use bridges marked 294 on the 291's in 1958 and 1959. Anders pestered them until they gave him the info from their archives. Not only is it probably not a franken, but it's a very uncommon watch from a transitional period for the brand.

More times than I can count. Spring of 2011 was a wallet killer for me.

That was a great decision. Nice grab, and that scalloped crown is the clincher. You have the 3rd model with a date at 12 and correct crown I've seen in 5+ years.

Thanks Dennis. Your's is the one that spurred me to hunt for one. I was so excited to see the scalloped crown. This '59 is definitely a keeper.

Is it because of the hour hand? Seems to be something wrong with it.

Yes, and so was I once. But I came to my senses and sold those buggers to invest in good brands.

    Me too!

That's one of my favorites. Is it now on the "official" March list?

Most definitely. Windy & I were just talking about how long our spring training pilgrimage is going to last. Besides my normal vacation time, I still have 2 days owed and we might try for 11 days straight.
