Hey all.
Thought I’d share a few pictures and a bit of story.
First of all I should say that I’m not much of a bargain hunter. I’d rather pay a bit of a premium to purchase from a highly reputable/ knowledgeable seller than I would do trying to scalp off eBay. Each to their own, but this is my preference.
A couple of years ago I reached out to Eric Wind about sourcing a pre-moon speedy for me. I really wanted a reference that was close to the actual one that went to the moon.
First picture shows the watch I picked up.
At the time, Eric mentioned to me that HODINKEE had taken a few pictures of this exact watch and that it might be used in an upcoming article or feature.
Low and behold, I get the copy of HODINKEE magazine with a feature on the 50th anniversary of the moon landings and my watch is staring back at my in a full page picture. Excerpt of the magazine attached.
