Here's the one that started it all - my 145.029 Seamaster

Initially came on this (very nice) Menicucci strap:



Then this Nato took over for a fast, gulf-like feel (and got me rave reviews, btw!)




And a couple of days ago, I received a made-to-order alligator strap, blue with orange stitching... then the right buckle to go on this piece of exotica:

So off to the bergeon tool it goes:


And the final result is, in my eyes, spot-on
(then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder)...








Have to snap a couple of more pics in natural light The orange stitching could be of a more agressive hue, but as an experiment, that'll do!

Just amazing what different straps can do to the personality of a timepiece...

Nice choices! I like that white NATO with the orange stripe! It's like matching the shoes to your hat (so to speak). Makes all the difference

 

Fantastic bespoke strap, where did you have it made?

I too have a thing for rotating straps, commissioning straps etc.

I always thought it would be a good idea to have a mobile strap exchange within the forum. Someone tosses in 10 or so unused/unwanted straps into a pot and mails it to the next member. The recipient maybe finds 3 straps they’d like to keep. They have to replace what they take out and ideally toss in few extras to help grow the pot. As long as you replenish what you take out there should be a nice assortment to choose from for the next guy. Problem is that we’re so spread out geographically that the postage expense would cover the cost of a strap. Maybe we’d end up with a pile of those damn Twist-O-Flex bracelets by the third member. I don’t know. Anyone want to start us off by sending me some 7912s with proper end links?

1/ Atelier du Bracelet Parisien, 2/ Camille Fournet, 3/ Jean Rousseau, 4/ Groupe Perrin
(all French, by the way --edit some quite expensive, it's true, but some less).
