Anyway to go on your line, I will share that my mistakes were not to the same level but I had not the excuse of age. Only got into watch 2 years ago, I was not wearing any until I turned 30+, then got myself what I thought was a nice classic watch : a new Tissot visodate in black... not that bad until I realize now what I could have buy with 400 euros more than 10years ago ! Not enough with that when I got married 5 years ago I found myself needing a non black watch so I ended up buying a Frederic constant automatic for more or less the same price again... quite dull watch actually.
The only good thing (for me) about my story is that I only regret the watch in this wedding 😉

·What’s that thing on the right? Some form of matching ring? What were you thinking when you bought it and did it attract the right kind of ‘partner’ that you were hoping for? Any amazing stories ‘happen’ because of this watch? C’mon, there must be!
On the bright side : at least it did not have Muamar Gadaffi’s face on the dial (so it could have been worse) 👍
