Just thought this was funny and interesting, showing the short-lived fashion trend for color crystals in the early 20th century. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Ar...al-Display-Sign-Collector-Estate/113362457630Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I remember those! Dating myself, but so what! Dyes were available in a variety of colours, and you could immerse a regular shaped crystal into the dye, to colour it. These dyes didn’t work with glass crystals, of course. Did they work with acrylic and eisenglass, both? That I don’t remember.
What a fantastically kitsch advertisement and concept!! Come to think of it, I might prefer the pink dial better than the rose colored crystal Those red and green ones are atrociously ugly.
Nothing like going through your stash of 1000's of crystals, looking for the right size and shape, finding it, and then realizing it's fecking green!
You can probably get a lot for it if you say it’s a special Kermit crystal. Add/ i’d so like a green watch- never found the right one though, as I narrowly missed a lady SM120 and am not about to buy a Rolex. And not too crazy about the Seiko Alpinist.
