image.png What is the safest way to set the time and wind a vintage mechanical Omega Geneve, cal 601, such as this? Clockwise or anti clockwise etc

    Thanks

I think you can safely set the time in either direction after pulling out the crown; winding should probably be in clockwise direction (away from you), or gently back and forth, with the crown pushed back in. Is that what you have already intuitively figured out?

Congratulations on having a watch with integral bracelet not converted to lugs for straps.

I would have a stiff drink first, it loosens the winding muscles.

To be fair, it was a Vostok Amphibia with a factory defect....

I imagine then that you were drinking something other than the manufactures recommended vodka (the cheapest one on the shelf)

The one that tastes like lighter fluid? Forget it! Barton's charcoal-filtered or nothing!

Though I have to admit Beefeater vodke as well as New Amsterdam vodka are filing the void left by Burroughs English Vodka...

Thank you. Yes, this is what I was doing already and believed it to be right but wanted to make sure
