I have searched the forums to no avail.

When setting the time, does one pay attention to indexing minute hand to align to seconds subdial our does the movement do this automatically? Restated, do I set minute hand on precise whole minute marker only when second sub dial is at 60 second index (and depressing crown in) or will the watch movement, on its own, align minute hand to seconds?

    Thank you!

If you want it to be aligned you have to do it, the movement doesn't correct for that.

@ChuckMK23 - you have to do as you described. Alternately, you can also set the minute hand to exactly between the markers when the second hand is at :30, but you're accomplishing the same thing.

Pushing in the crown and pulling it out has no effect; although sometimes collaterally when you pull the crown out you may wind up giving it a little turn and thus bumping the minute hand.
