Servicing an inexpensive chrono in UK

I have a Broadarrow PRS5 chrono (Eddie Platts Timefactors UK) which has a Poljot 3133 movement which after 4 years of my ownership is running fast now, 8 mins a day I only wear it rarely and don't wind it when not in use. Truth is its only worth £400/500. I love the watch and don't want to lose it to the broken drawer, but am struggling to justify a service cost at around it's value. Anyone know of a reasonable service guy in the UK? Thoughts or recommendations welcome.

8 minutes per day!!
In my experience, it sounds like it might have been magnetised..
Have you tried demagnetising?

I definitely think it's magnetised but considering I bought it with no service history the old lady deserves a spa?

Unfortunately a full service is going to run c. £250-300. Despite the cheaper movement the work involved for a chrono is the same

The time req stripping it down, checking for worn/damaged parts, cleaning, putting back together, testing and adjusting is going to be the same so value of the actual watch doesn’t really impact the cost of the service.
I’d recommend Mitka and WatchGuy as the best balance between price and quality but you’re looking at several hundred still.

Thanks Davidt, I have contacted Mitka for a service . I am going to keep it so its just ownership costs really.

That's a lovely looking watch. I'd definitely service that. Presumably you've got a few good memories with it? Worth getting it fit for a few more.

If it’s magnetised maybe you could try the inexpensive fix at home?
