Servicing a PlanPro-Modified Omega 2264.50 Quartz

The previous repair person told me that it passed a pressure test. I frequently scuba down to ~100 ft in 50 F water and the watch handles it without issues. Swims are in 55-65 F water, also with zero issues. I only register the lost time after the hot shower (only after the swim, no hot showers after scuba). Of course this does not mean that the shower is responsible, it could very well be something else. But the hot shower hypothesis is something I can test very easily at home.

I don't understand why people shower with watches. Not from a water intrusion standpoint but from a comfort standpoint. To me, it makes for an uncomfortable experience. It's the same reason I don't sleep with a watch on.

I was wrong about one thing: The shower had nothing to do with things. After 3 weeks of normal wear and avoiding the shower, the watch again lost time, so out it went for service.

I was right about another thing: The PO seconds hand (066WZ4315) is not compatible with the 2264 quartz movement. Even though I raised this possibility (I had forgotten where I had read this and my memory was hazy on this) with the folks who did the mod, they missed this, forced the seconds hand on, and this means that the movement has to work extra hard to keep the seconds hand moving. I am glad the second watchmaker took a close loot at it, and identified it as the likely culprit. It appears to be an easy fix - just move back to the original seconds hand. As long as I can keep the PO bezel and crystal I am happy enough.
