I just bought a PO LM LE and was wondering if I should service it. Previous owner wore it sparingly but the watch is about 7 years old. And there were small scratches on it that didn't bother me but just found a big one that does.
Edit the title to looking for watchmaker in Maryland Or @ulackfocus is in New Jersey and might be able to recommend. I'm in Darwin Australia so no help to you.....
@rkim11 - are you willing to ship it or do you want to stay local? There was a website that recommended local watch makers by area. Maybe the NAWCC has a link somewhere? https://nawcc.org Found it! https://net.nawcc.org/nawcc/businesssearch/
I have had 14 Omegas over the years serviced by bringing them to the NYC or Boca Raton boutiques. Never had a single problem. Now, if we were talking about a collectable vintage piece, I might think differently. But for a modern piece I have been very satisfied with Omega service. Of course, there are no good independent watchmakers that I am aware of in my region of CT or FL.
Thanks for the replies. I have no preference when it comes to local or shipping. I now have enough info to figure out what to do I think.
Anyone other than @Archer? Last time I checked he was so backlogged he wasn't accepting folks into the waiting queue. I'm sure existing clients have an easier go but it looked bleak for me. I love viewing his servicing stories.
I'm going to answer despite your avatar. If you’re near Tyson’s I would just take it to the Omega boutique in Tyson!s Galleria or whatever it’s called now. Nice people and no surprises. PS Despite my Duke undergrad, I like UNC and Chapel Hill is a great place.
