Not sure that it's a "thing".

Two COMEX issued Rolexes?

Now that's a thing!

I didn't know comex 1665's were going for $115000 now a days. How much of that do you think they are attributing to the "pair thing"

Asking is very different from selling price...but there's a thread for that somewhere around here...

I was going to say the same thing. It's neat but that's a huge premium, over 2 watches that already have a huge premium.

Logically though if you had to hunt consecutive serials subs, Comex subs would be the only way to even attempt it. Low numbers made in small batches.

Well Comex are running about 20k for a 1655. Let's assume I'm wrong and they are 30k each. 60k for the watches plus 10% for the matching pair. 75k ask take 67k maybe? That's super high as the last 1655 Comex was unsold a
Year ago at 20k after a quick google. But I thought they where worth more then that. So 50 k is most likely the very high end.

There is a reason they have been on the market for over a year.

its very cool, but certainly not worth a premium over 10%.
I seem to remember a member here selling a consecutive pair of Railmasters, that weren't marked up over individual values. Although he ended up splitting the pair.

I have two Heuer Autavias that are about 20 serial numbers apart...kind of cool, but no added value.

Idk never under estimate Rolex Submariner collectors. I agree with you with almost any other watch. But you have to admit the premium that some of the variations go for makes Speedmaster guys look perfectly sane.

The consecutive serial numbers is cool. I'd pay a very small premium for it <10%. The satisfaction would be immense if I was to find them separately and bring a pair together. I'd be giddy inside! The question is whether I would be able to separate the pair afterwards

my personal take on it:

another seller that tries to invent "the next big thing" (like giving faulted dials a name and try to hype that (spiderdials, anybody?)), that allows him to basically blow smoke up your ass. 😉

what is the benefit of that? ... zero - or rather it's a negative benefit...

you need to sell 2 already extremely expensive watches or you lose the benefit ... where's the beauty in that? 😒😒😒

sellers reasoning is most likely: "I just need to find ONE idiot" ...
