I got this piece from a recommendation of a Seiko Enthusiast friend of mine.....and while I enjoy wearing it within the collection, I'm putting it up for sale just so as to see if any one in OF wants this in his Seiko collection. For more history on this piece. https://wornandwound.com/review/affordable-vintage-1970-seiko-6139-7010-chronograph/ Service history unknown, runs well. Case looks just a tad polished. Crystal is original (hazed and has a dull blue tinge in it, which I think is very cool). Chrono hands all work well. Keeps time well and has a good power reserve of at least a day. Only issue is the Kanji day that is slightly misaligned but its not an issue with me and I didn't wanna overwork my already overworked watchmaker. Beautiful piece. 38mm 19mm lugs. Straps are a bit of mix match as the lug holes are so small and narrow to the case. I specially bought curved 19mm spring bars and custom made 2 straps for this watch. Blue and olive. Will be all included in the sale.
Bump. These speedtimers are in production for only a year, 1971. So, there don't seem to be many around.
Bump Edited with new photos on the olive strap. I bought 19mm curved spring bars from toxic natos. It comes with it.
I have a 1971 JDM Seiko 6139-7020 ( dial variant 7040T) BUT the OPs 7010 is a VERY RARE reference.... something like only .1% of Speedtimer made. Issued Forthe Japanese Special Forces ( from what I’ve read).
Thanks buddy. I decided to keep it. It might come up for sale again next time if I do have more incomings. Thanks to all interested parties.
