http://www.ebay.com/itm/261096739421?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Is this a real thing? I mean I have seen some interesting sales tactics - but to sell a collection for that amount of money without even really telling people what's in it just seems bizarre. Then again I am one of the people watching to see if it actually sells... (316 others at this point...) I highly doubt too many of you would be willing to part with your entire collection - particularly the vintage hunters.
Not worth it imo. And w/ sales tactics like: " sent secured mail with a $45,000 insurance policy attached. The insurance will be an extra charge " 1. I agree. Very magnanimous of the Seller to send the collection covered by $45,000 of insurance. Insurance to be an additional charge to the Buyer. Which is in violation of Ebay regulations.
I am definitely not buying! And sorry - I shouldn't have have said the seller didn't provide a partial list. Thanks for adding it. What I should have wrote is that some of those pieces, if they are worth a portion of that money, would probably benefit from a bit more of a description or some more photos. Twelve photos of one watch is hardly enough... Anyway my collection is tiny - but there is no way I would be selling it all for one money unless it was 30k...
I have always wondered about that - I see lots of listing that advertise free shipping but then say "contact me after auction - shipping isn't free" Anyway definitely a strange sales tactic - maybe they think if they are insured for $45k that someone will pay the $30k?
Seller can't charge a penny more than what is in listing. Can I add insurance charges to my invoice? You can't charge a separate fee for insurance, but you can incorporate any insurance costs into your item's price or handling cost. Whether or not you choose to insure the item, you still need to make sure it arrives as you described it in your listing.
Any collection that has an Invicta in it should raise serious red flags on the buyers true interest in watches....
Lol not even that much money in the list. Wonder what the 6 not mentioned are if he lists an invicta.
"6 other Misc watches 1985-2000 Misc watches, not much but something" Timex, Casio, maybe a Nautica and a Fossil
I am - purely for the educational value... Your photo reveals 76 inquiries - the real question should be who has asked so many questions!
In my experience collection sellers are irrational people who think that grouping things together somehow greatly increases the value.
It makes it easier for them to fudge the values of individual watches (i.e. the Rolex is worth about $10,000, the Omega is worth about $5,000, so on and so forth). If each watch was offered for sale individually, they would never sell for that far above the actual true market value.
