Selling a 2025 Range Rover in USA...best place to list?

My MIL wants to sell her 2025 Range Rover P400 (satin gold). We live in a small market, not many local buyers for this car.

I looked around at various landrover forums; does anyone know which one is the authority--the "Omega Forums" of range rovers? Other tips on where to sell? Thanks in advance.

I’d start with Carvana or CarMax. You can get a price online after costs. Then you will know your floor on the price. Since they are buying for resale, there will be no sales tax (in most areas) deducted.

Then look at dealer websites offering cars with the same age, options and equipment. That will be your ceiling.

I’m sure there are Land/Range Rover forums out there for enthusiasts of the brand. But many people there are on the lookout for old classics, not late model used cars.

My feeling is that after transportation costs (which the buyer is going to want you to pay or split) you will not clear much more than the Carvana offer and still have to deal with sales tax and a lot of paperwork.

Time is money and they know that. Unfortunately, you are an amateur playing a professional’s game when it comes to late model used cars.

Agree.....Carvana or CarMax are your best bets in a thin market. Check the Kelly Blue Book value first and see what it shows. The last time I checked KBB for a price I immediately got five calls on my phone from dealers wanting to buy. I learned that KBB allows dealers to sign up for alerts, so when somebody asks for a price on their vehicle five dealers get an alert that the vehicle might be available. Then the dealers scramble to buy the vehicle if it is one they feel can be resold easily for a profit.

That’s why I didn’t recommend Kelley, Edmunds or TrueCar. Dealers subscribe to these things and you will be continually pestered by them, even after you’ve sold the car.

Once you tell them the car is no longer available they stop calling, at least they did with me. But once you contact Carvana you'll never escape their continued followups with cars that you might like, most of which I'd never consider.
