If lots of Franklins are pulled from a brief case, make sure you have one of these handy...

It would be a real pain running through so many bills with one of those. Thankfully the bank checks for counterfeits before depositing 馃槈

Hey, we're talkin' Joizey here! This is how things get done. I bet if you cordoned off the parking structure, there'd be half a dozen other transactions going on at the same time...... and not all for watches.

That's what her lawyer said.....And then she paused....And paused.... Then a twitch, and a small smile appeared..... And then it developed into maniacal laugh.

Cash only.

Be careful as there are now dodgy fake bank apps for mobile phones around where it looks like an instant bank transfer has been made, but in fact it hasn't. An acquaintance of mine was selling an expensive watch and this was attempted with him, fortunately he has his head screwed on correctly so didn't fall for it. After instead insisting on a short walk to the bank to transfer the monies the " buyer " went to quickly get something from his car and was never seen or heard from again.

Cash isn't possible like it is in the US, here in Sweden.
Of course you should always log in and check the bank account before handing over the item, even though you pay thru Swish..
In Sweden cash deals rarely occur since banks no longer handle cash. You can't today walk in to a bank in Sweden and make a withdrawl over 1500usd without contacting the bank some days in advance so they can order money for you since they no longer handels cash in the banks. They must also know what the money will be used for, all to prevent moonlighting (skip taxes). But I'm aware that it's common in the US, cash is king 馃槈
However, I prefer to have it all digital, prevents robbery and makes life a little easier 馃槈
All in all, if you feel un secure or anything, do the deal at the bank or at a surveillance location 馃榾

Sweden doesn't use cash anymore? Boy, am I behind the times or what? 馃う

I have bought and sold several cars at my local police station.

We do, but not in the same extent as in the US 馃榾
I haven't used physical cash for over a year, or, I can't remember the last time.
My brother, has a small chip under his skin that he uses as his digital wallet. That chip also works as key to his home and for his work 馃榾
Kind a cool feature.

Same here in the UK - If I want to draw down more than 拢1000 from my bank, I have to give them 3 business days notice.

Nearly every transaction I make is on a credit card (airmiles whoop!) - with cash for the smaller independent shops... if anyone is tracking my spend, they probably think that I'm addicted to tea, biscuits, sushi, and eBay...

That said, I travel to both Germany, and Spain quite a lot for business... and in both of them, cash is still king.

Last f2f I did we met at the sellers bank, spoke to the lady on the desk and said what we were doing, and she said they had a room free which we could use in private (this is far from the norm tho-usually it's a chair in the corner!).

Then either cash payment into the sellers account or instant transfer.

I just saw a story on that yesterday. Quite interesting. I admit that I don't think I would like it.

Yes, it's easier and probably physically safer. I read that robberies are way down, but electronic theft is way up.

You folks must really have a lot of trust to have something like that implanted. Think about it. Your computer or cellphone can easily be hacked. So can the electronics in your car. And you are going to put something inside your body that can possibly be hacked?

I remember reading a science fiction story about a society that implanted a chip in the heart of every child born. You were given 18 years of life and instead of cash, all transactions were paid by adding or subtracting intervals of time. If your time account reached zero, the chip zapped you out of existence.

That may become a reality someday, based on this.

Every transaction is being recorded, your Taxation Department will really love that. I can't imagine not getting away with a bit of tax avoidance. Beside recorded transaction there needs to be a cash in the hand economy as well, that's how I fund my watches (amongst other things). I think I better stop here.
Regards.
