do many people suffer from this??? I had every intention of listing a watch for sale, I took her out of her little box, gave her a wind, then took a picture for the sales thread. I then slipped her on the wrist, I now think that was my mistake..and then realised I could not go through with it. It's only a Chronostop... but the thought of seeing her with another man, or woman, made me realise I could not go through with it. She's still on the wrist.. and won't be going anywhere. This doesn't bode well.

It must be... I failed... and now feel guilty for even considering it.

If you can list just one for sale, I think you'll find it gets easier after that. I'm not saying you won't regret it though...

    Are you the original owner?

if not, just remember the watch has already been with others...

I hate selling watches I've enjoyed wearing (and even some I didn't quite!), but in some cases - usually following a long-awaited acquisition or two - it comes down to sell, or buck up for nasty interest charges etc

Still even then, sometimes it might be worth it!

    Nope.

When I decide to sell a watch, I'm usually done with it.

I reckon I've sold about 12-15 watches in my lifetime and I only regret selling 2 of them. Normally I upgrade after the sale, but in these instances the €'s of the sale didn't buy me a better watch (one was even friggin' perfect).

All good points guys. I wasn't the original owner but this was the 1st vintage watch that I've bought. It was all bashed up when I aquired it and I enjoyed the process immensely. I've never actually sold a watch before. I've had some stolen..and lost one in Mexico. Hopefully it gets easier.

    Ha Cheers guys :)

Life is short and there are many watches out there. Unless the watch is truly hard to find or has some unique provenance, I don't hesitate to sell. The ones I've regretted selling I ended up buying again later.

That is true... at least these are easy to find and replace. I can't imagine the pain some will have gone through selling some of the beauties I've seen on here. Like you say, life is short! Enjoy it!

shame on you ! How can you sell a watch you like. quite absurd really.

But its OK if you don't like the watch

Don't worry, the feeling of loss wears off after 3 or 4 hundred flips.

Maybe you should never sell your 1st Vintage watch... Pieces that follow will never have quite the same place in your heart;)

    I agree...

but convincing someone else to part with theirs if you've taken a fancy to it..is perfectly acceptable :taunt:
