People often ask: how many watches in your collection? I am also imagining that many (if not most) of the people hanging around this forum (WIS and other Collectors especially!) probably aspire to acquiring as many watches as their budget will allow. On my side, I have decided to follow a strict not more than 15 watches total... and after that, one in, one out rule will be followed. What about you? Any (self imposed) limit? What are your rules?
No specific limit as of yet, largely financially limited. But I do hesitate to have more than ~10 watches in my collection.
Doesn’t it depend on the size of ones watch box? I reread that - it sounds smutty without meaning too.
No limit yet, but I'm new and have five watches, three of which can be counted as part of the collection. I'll set a limit once it develops into a problem.
I've been good at limiting it to 10. But if prices ever take a nose dive... well... let's just say that I'll need way more boxes than I currently have.
This was only 18 months worth ( pic from a few years ago ) No rules, besides Condition Condition Condition
Makes me realize more and more how much I have been overlooking Seamaster chronos!!! May have to revise my self-imposed limit!!
That looks fantastic! I have never seen one with that dial and hands. Makes my chrono with a 321 look plain ha ha.
I established 3 golden rules to avoid useless accumulation (for me): 1.- No more than 15 watches 2.- No adding more Quartz watches after 2010 3.- No sub $2,000 (retail) USD allowed. Preferably over $3,000. This only applies to watches purchased after 2017. The idea is to have only watches that I would wear. I have a couple watches that don't get any wrist time but they won't sell for much so I prefer to keep them.
