Received this during the week, it wasn't great to begin with but a little bit of tlc, a little bit of brasso and a lot of elbow grease, it's turned out pretty good.

The elbow grease even made the picture quality better:p
What did you use the brasso for???

The photographic aspect is not my srrong point I must admit. :(
The brasso was just used to give the plexi a polish and get rid of the scratches.

We all suffer from that sometimes. Nice watch!

Nice piece, like the transformation. All the effort paid off!

Nice watch with an interesting history. It was produced in 1964 to celebrate the Tokyo Olympics hence the flame on the case back. The case was embossed so these are often worn smooth but yours looks good (not too much brasso though !)
It was an expensive watch for 1964 costing 12000 yen
The second generation with the 6117A movement was issued in 1968 but Seiko made a mistake by putting London ,Rome and Paris on the same time line on the bezel. They quickly recalled the watches but I have one of the ones that got away

    :)
That's a nice watch you've got there as well! I can see the mistake on the bezel too
Thanks for the write up, I really should have tried to include more detail. You're quite right of course that was the info I manged to come up with.
And I can assure you, the brasso is only for the plexi glass.
